    Pharmacokinetic parameters of phenytoin
Phenytoin does NOT demonstrate a proportional relationship between drug levels and dose. Due to zero order kinetics, dosage should NOT be increased by more than 50-100mg increments. Due to zero order kinetics, dosage should NOT be increased by more than 50-100mg increments.Phenytoin follows nonlinear (or zero-order) kinetics at therapeutic concentrations, because the rate of metabolism is close to the maximum capacity of the enzymes involved. In nonlinear kinetics, clearance and half-life fluctuate with plasma concentration.Summary. Phenytoin is a relatively insoluble weak acid, usually administered as the sodium salt. Bioavailability is dependent upon particle size and problems of generic inequivalence have therefore arisen, particularly in Scandinavia.FELBATOL® (felbamate) Tablets 400 mg and 600 mg, Oral Suspension 600 mg/5 mL. Before Prescribing Felbatol® (felbamate), the physician should be thoroughly familiar with the details of this prescribing information.WARNING. HEMATOLOGIC REACTIONS. QUALAQUIN® use for the treatment or prevention of nocturnal leg cramps may result in serious and life-threatening hematologic reactions, including thrombocytopenia and hemolytic uremic syndrome/thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (HUS/TTP).Bioequivalence. In determining bioequivalence, for example, between two products such as a commercially available Brand product and a potential to-be-marketed Generic product, pharmacokinetic studies are conducted whereby each of the preparations are administered in a cross-over study to volunteer subjects, generally healthy individuals but …In 1989, the FDA approved the first proton pump inhibitor (PPI) in the United States, omeprazole (Prilosec™). Lansoprazole (Prevacid®) was the second FDA-approved PPI in 1995, followed by rabeprazole (Aciphex™) in 1999 and pantoprazole (Protonix®) in 2000. Esomeprazole …Diflucan ® (fluconazole), the first of a new subclass of synthetic triazole antifungal agents, is available as tablets for oral administration, as a powder for oral suspension.2.1 Dosage for Postherpetic Neuralgia. In adults with postherpetic neuralgia, NEURONTIN may be initiated on Day 1 as a single 300 mg dose, on Day 2 as 600 mg/day (300 mg two times a day), and on Day 3 as 900 mg/day (300 mg three times a day).Table 1. Drug Interactions: Pharmacokinetic Parameters for Co-administered Drugs in the Presence of Azithromycin; Co-administered Drug Dose of Co-administered DrugHome > Drug Interactions. Drug Interactions. Welcome to the drug interactions category for physicians and pharmacists. This category features links to clinical practice resources on identifying, checking and managing drug-drug including CYP450 (cytochrome P450), …This test guide provides the drug half-life and time to steady state for many therapeutic drugs. It also provides guidance on how to use this information when monitoring therapeutic drugs.VFEND ® (voriconazole) IV Injection, Tablets, Liquid. DESCRIPTION. VFEND ® (voriconazole), an azole antifungal agent is available as a lyophilized powder for solution for intravenous infusion, film-coated tablets for oral administration, and as a powder for oral suspension.I. Introduction. Theophylline was once the cornerstone in the management of both the acute and chronic phases of reversible airway obstruction.NEURONTIN® Capsules, for Oral Use. NEURONTIN® (gabapentin) Tablets, for Oral Use. NEURONTIN® (gabapentin) Oral Solution. DESCRIPTION. The active ingredient in NEURONTIN capsules, tablets, and oral solution is gabapentin, which has the chemical name 1-(aminomethyl)cyclohexaneacetic acid.
