    A1c 5.7 metformin
Reply Dennis June 19, 2016 at 5:44 am. Dave, Did you ever get your A1c below 5? I have been able to get mine down to 5. I exercise daily, weigh 135 lbs, have been low-carb for 10 yrs, take Metformin and use Levemir and still cannot seem to get below 5.The A1C test is our best scorecard to show how well we are controlling our diabetes. It measures how much glucose has been sticking to our red blood cells for the previous two or three months. Since our bodies replace each red blood cell with a new one every four months, this test tells us the average of how high our glucose levels have been during the life of the cells. In the 24-week study of patients receiving Januvia as add-on combination therapy with metformin, there were no adverse reactions reported regardless of investigator assessment of causality in ≥5% of patients and more commonly than in patients given placebo.I have had Type II Diabetes for 10 years and have taken Metformin the entire time. My last A1C was 6.3 and blood sugar runs around 135, fasting. The liver is one of the most complicated organs in the body and plays a huge role in handling sugars. When should you take metformin to work with the liver?Testing for Type 2 Diabetes and Prediabetes in Asymptomatic Adults : Type 2 diabetes screening should be performed in adults of any age who are overweight or obese, and who have one or more diabetes risk factor (See Diabetes Risk Factors) Testing should begin at age 45RESULTS. Mean A1C level and proportion of individuals with elevated A1C (A1C >6%) by population characteristics are displayed in Table 1.The mean ± SE A1C in adults aged ≥20 years without diagnosed diabetes was 5.3 ± 0.01%.Diabetes management at home is an important way of controlling your blood sugar levels without the help of an expert. In that sense, you are in control of your diabetes on a daily basis. This does NOT mean that you need an A1c of less than 5.7% if you’re living with diabetes. It means that if you do NOT live with diabetes, your A1c is expected to be below 5.7%.Metformin, The Anti-Aging Miracle Drug Diabetes Drugs Take A BAD RAP. by Jeffrey Dach MD.
